CMAC PARTNERS WITH PLANET REIMAGINED TO RAISE AWARENESS OF CLIMATE CHANGE
Venue proudly builds upon its commitment to the environment with new season-long partnership to promote sustainability in music concerts and tours
Canandaigua, NY, May 18, 2022 -
CMAC is proud to announce a new partnership with Planet Reimagined to promote new solutions to climate challenges, including commitments to making sure that concerts at CMAC do not add excess carbon emissions to the environment.
Planet Reimagined is a non-profit social venture founded by bassist Adam Met of the multi-platinum band AJR. Planet Reimagined champions sustainability through the powerful tool of culture and entertainment to reach large audiences.
For each ticket sold this season, CMAC will donate $1 to Planet Reimagined. With this partnership, CMAC joins the Show Goes On campaign, which highlights how bands, venues and fans can consider their climate impacts at every step, from transportation to get to the show all the way through to composting after the show. CMAC finished its 2021 concert season with nearly 100% zero waste, through a combination of composting, recycling, and returnables. “After each show, our dedicated CMAC team works until the wee hours of the morning to sort through trash and ensure it is heading to the correct facility,” said CMAC General Manager, Chris Tuttle. “The concert may be over, but as far as our environment is concerned, the Show Goes On.”
Planet Reimagined works globally and locally to bring communities together to campaign for people and the planet. One Planet Reimagined initiative this summer is a fellowship for students from around the world to do research about how the music industry can contribute to a healthier, cleaner planet.
“As a performer and an advocate, straddling the worlds of music and sustainability, it’s incredible to see a non-profit venue like CMAC committed to this social and environmental mission. CMAC takes this seriously and we are proud to call them a partner,” explained Planet Reimagined founder Adam Met. “Planet Reimagined and CMAC agree that concerts shouldn’t generate more carbon that will add to the climate crisis. A concert shouldn’t leave behind anything except smiles and great memories.”
