Canandaigua, NY – CMAC (Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center) is pleased to announce three new additions to this summer’s building schedule.
Kicking off the 2021 season will be the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) on July 3rd. Let freedom ring! Celebrate America’s birthday with conductor William Waldrop and the RPO. Enjoy stirring Sousa spectaculars, favorite toe-tappers, and inspiring anthems as the orchestra performs your favorite red, white and blue melodies.
On July 10th, CMAC will host the “Welcome Back to CMAC Community Concert” honoring all First Responders. All proceeds will benefit the Thompson Health Foundation and Canandaigua Emergency Squad. AND your first drink is on the house! (Must be 21 years of age or older) Tickets for this special event will be $20. Proof of First Responder status gets you in free! Local artists Shades Of Grey, Alyssa Trahan and Brass Taxi are thrilled to take part in this event as a thank you to this incredible community and all they have endured and accomplished over the last year.
On July 31st, Blackberry Smoke will bring their “Spirit Of The South Tour: A Celebration of Southern Rock and Roll” to CMAC on July 31st with special guests The Allman Betts Band, The Wild Feathers and founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, Jaimoe.
Created in celebration of the various roots and influences within Southern music, every show will conclude with a unique collaborative finale, which will feature Blackberry Smoke, The Allman Betts Band, The Wild Feathers, Jaimoe and additional surprise guests showcasing the inspirations of Rock, Blues, Gospel and Soul music. Additionally, for the first time ever, Blackberry Smoke is partnering with The Allman Brothers Band Museum At The Big House—located in Macon, GA—to bring the band’s storied history on the road with a new mobile set up. The museum will feature never-before-seen archival items including original hand-written lyrics, awards, rare family photographs, iconic pieces of clothing and jewelry, one-of-a-kind instruments played by the band and more. Jaimoe will also be onsite at the museum and available for meet and greet opportunities at each stop. All “Spirit Of The South Tour” ticket holders will be granted free access to the museum with $1 of each ticket donated to The Allman Brothers Museum at the Big House to help preserve its history and heritage.
Tickets for all three shows will go on sale this Friday May 21st.
Given NYS and Ontario County mandates, CMAC has made the decision to open its 2021 season requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccinations for each event.
Ginny Clark, President of the Friends of CMAC added: “After thoughtful consideration of our operations team, our artists and our patrons, CMAC wants to ensure all feel safe when enjoying our venue. We are proud of our history and tradition in providing a safe community venue.”
To further highlight CMAC’s commitment to the community’s health, CMAC is partnering with Thompson Health to get shots into arms!
CMAC encourages you to join us on June 10, 2021. The caring, professional first responder team from Thompson Health will setup on the main stage at CMAC to offer the single dose J&J vaccination.
CMAC will provide two complimentary tickets their Welcome Back to CMAC Community Concert on July 10, 2021 where all proceeds will benefit the Thompson Health Foundation and Canandaigua Emergency Squad.
Please continue to watch our website and social media outlets, as CMAC will remain in alignment with all state and local restrictions and will continue to work alongside Ontario County and the New York Department of Health.
Please consider getting your COVID -19 Vaccine and then join us on July 3rd as we kick off our 2021 Season Under the Stars with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. We can’t wait to see you!
