CMAC and Cobblestone Arts Center Partner for New Mural
Art and the Community Unite at CMAC
CANANDAIGUA, NY – CMAC (Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center) and Cobblestone Arts Center have partnered for a new mural to be showcased at the venue this season.
Local artist, Kim Bellavia and her artist assistant Melissa Ridley, a junior at Canandaigua Academy, have been working with the help of students at Cobblestone’s Dayhab Without Walls program, to complete the mural prior to the first CMAC show. Today, the students took a trip to CMAC to add their own personal touch of creativity to the wall. The new mural will feature wings made from musical instruments and will act as a place for patrons to take photos.
“We wanted to get the community involved with the new addition to CMAC” said Lynn Freida, Executive Director at CMAC. “The Cobblestone Arts Center is an amazing asset for our local community, and we are thrilled with the partnership and the outcome so far – I’m sure our patrons will enjoy it as well. The wings provide the perfect photo op to commemorate a night under the CMAC stars.”
The official start of the CMAC season when patrons can see the mural is June 23rd with the John Fogerty and ZZ Top concert.
